I was a bit worried with the cwm recovery that I had created a few days ago. Its because the recovery is a cwm v5+. As far as I know, kitkat doesnt work with v5+. I need cwm v6+.
And I stumble to Carliv's thread on the XDA (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759981). So, I did as the instructions there and walla.. a cwm 6+ recovery. You can grab it
here.
As you can see, it's still upside down.. :). Well, does it work? Creating backup - yes. Restoring a backup - not tested yet.
To finish off, some shots of the 2 touch (good enough for a 4 yrs old) ips screen.

Custom recovery should require rooting, but I am having some bad time rooting mine, tried VROOT from THL webpage (http://www.thlmobilestore.com/news/thl-mobile-phone-root-method/) and it says it worked, but apps are unable to request permissions. There is an app now called vRoot on the phone, if I understand correctly it an alternative for SuperSU or Superuser, and it does not work for me :(

DeleteAs I understand, root is not needed to flash recovery, however, THL phones do not have regular revocery partition and simply Fastboot'ing the *.img doesn't work. After some googling I found SP Flash Tools (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49632244) so I tried to flash your recovery with it, but SP Flash Tools application doesn't react to my phone connected via usb while powered off, same goes for powered on, so I guess SP Flash Tools won't work here... However adb and fastboot work fine, only the fastboot flash recovery doesn't work, so I am waiting in anticipation for promised post :)
